Nathan "Kestrel" Reilly doesn't remember where he was born, his earliest childhood memories are of James Reilly a galactic scout whose job was primarily to find uncharted worlds for the galaxies ever expanding empires.
James, a decorated veteran of many wars was exploring a previously uncharted sector when he came across a weak distress beacon. Following the beacon to it's source James found Nathan strapped into a escape pod on some backwater rock of a planet. There were no signs of Nathan's parents or the ship that had ejected the pod.
James took Nathan under his care and educated him on there travels. By the Age of ten Nathan was earning a Merc's wage piloting James's ship during off hours. At the age of 16 Nathan found himself bereft of family once again his adoptive father disappearing on a dangerous scouting mission.

Fortunately James had built up quite a number of credits in his travels and had given Nathan nearly all the skills he'd possessed. Nathan was a extraordinary pilot, his education thanks to the ships database while not complete was very competent. Nathan could his own against any three foes unarmed in a bar fight and had proved as much time and time again. After four years bouncing around the galaxy searching for any sort of clue to James disappearance, Nathan was hired to chart a great expanse of space. Seeing that this would be a long job and desiring company Nathan put out the call and founded Reilly's Rangers.

While working on the Scouting mission constantly, Nathan has been known to take the odd job or two to bring extra credits to his Merc's;

Alan Vance "Butcher" to his comrades is a former military medic and has decided to ply his trade for better pay.

Holly Plitos "Brick" is the 'Rangers' heavy weapons specialist, a former special ops agent who found a better paying job.

Ian Donovan "Hack" is the 'Rangers' resident techno geek...while no stranger to a gun he also serves as the 'Rangers' ship's engineer and quartermaster.


The Ranger's ship "Regulator" is a heavily modified Cruiser. The ship boast the standard weapons for a ship of it's class but has been highly automated to allow the four rangers to run the ship from the bridge for the most part. The ship's hanger has been revamped into a broadside missile launch system allowing the "Rangers" to drop a large payload of missiles on a single target. Other modifications to the ship have replaced the escape pods with quick launch fighters to give the Ranger's a chance to escape should things go sour.
