A nanomachine colony is a collection of advanced nanomachines working together to form a larger, intelligent construct. The very nature of a nanomachine colony allows for them to form into a wide variety of shapes and take on the appearance of a variety of races. Their ability to change shape also means they can form their limbs into a variety of simple melee weapons and repair themselves quickly after sustaining damage.
