[GS] Galactic Shogunate

A few years after the fall of Earth, the ancient and once powerful Samurai, led by Estide Jakal, removed themselves from the Terran society that was decimated by war. With their entire Population of 225,000, they set out amongst the stars. After many years in space, the travelers came to a remote system on the outer edges of the Milkyway Galaxy. The system was perfect, rich in raw materials, a large lush world for living, the right temperate for life. The decision was made to settle in this system and make it their own.

The strange radiation given off from the sun though has made it so that children fully mature at an early age and lifespans are nearly double that of standard humans. The heavier gravity of the planet makes for slightly stronger bodies, though slightly shorter in stature.

Over the next 2,500 years, life flourished and the population grew slowly to it's apex of 1.25 million inhabitants. The Empire had learned to make great warships for protection and space stations to fit their needs. A great armada was built in the case that an enemy would wish to prey upon their civilization. But with time, the armada grew old and outdated and this was a cause of worry for the current leader, Genald Jakal. He commissioned the most advanced ship that they had ever built, the Shogun's Shield. It was fully 3 times the size of anything hey had ever built with 27 times the firepower, it was a truly powerful ship in their eyes.

3 days before the launch of the Shogun's Shield an enemy ship entered the outer rim of the solar system. What was thought of as a rare traveler, soon turned out to only be an advanced scout of a much larger fleet. The Progen had begun their assault on the small system ruled by the Galactic Shogunate.

In the first wave, all outer defenses and stations were destroyed as if a great wind blew them out of existence. Genald Jakal set up a blockade between the advancing ships and Tagnus. As one, the Tagnus defenses fired a fearsome salvo at the enemy and the main battleships opened up hell upon the first rank of ships. Over 100 ships were destroyed on the first day of battle alone as the enemy retreated to lick their wounds.

The second day of battle found the Galactic Shogunate Armada waiting for the Progen to return. When they finally did four days later, they brought the full force of their assault fleets, over a thousand ships strong. Genald, aboard the newly finished Shogun's Shield led the defensive. 2 days of utter carnage brought about the complete destruction of the assault fleets and the annihilation of the Shogunate Armada and the death of their leader, Genald Jakal
